Spray that again!
Spraying paint versus rolling or brushing paint may actually affect the appearance of the paint when you go to touch it up. Some of the reasons are obvious…when you spray, the finish is generally very smooth and when you brush paint on, particularly if you use the wrong brush, you may end up with brush marks. Even rolling paint on will leave stippling on smooth walls. So, it is important to pay attention to the method used to apply paint to end up with touch-ups that most closely approximate the original finish. It has been rumored that even spraying alters the color of paint ever so slightly because it has air added to it as it is atomized through the spray nozzle.
You need to pay attention to the type of products and equipment you use to do touch-ups. Paint rollers have varying lengths of the knap for use on different surfaces. If you use a roller that applies too much paint (a longer knap), you can end up with not only a bunch of drips on your smooth wall but a build-up of the acrylic that will be very obvious when you view your finished job from an angle.
